Steel buildings generally fall under three broad categories namely, steel frame buildings, steel pole buildings, and steel arch buildings. In steel frame buildings, steel is used as the structural basis instead wood, which was traditionally the most common material used. The building is then finished with building materials such as brick. Steel frame buildings are typically used for offices, residential structures, and churches. Steel pole buildings typically use steel posts and trusses in place of wood.
