Here's a closing thought: you don't always have to place your statues in a way that they will attract maximum immediate attention. The center of your yard may be the one spot where your statues will never be missed, but this isn't necessarily better or even as appropriate as placing them where they will be framed more adequately, such as in a more picturesque corner of your yard.
