Dogs are a man's best friend. They can also be a great addition to your family unit. Dogs make wonderful pets and, once you have welcomed a dog into your family, people often begin to think of their dogs as another person instead of just a pet. Dogs can be great for teaching your kids responsibility; taking care of a pet is hard work. If your kids ask for a dog, consider getting one to teach them responsibility. Of course, this only works if you actually allow them to be the dog's primary care giver. For many parents, it is difficult to trust their children with the care of an animal.
